A BRIEF INTRODUCTION WOULD BE APPROPRIATE... Brief Description of Sources:
The first source as a primary source shows the three mugs (or cups) my father and mother received from their respective universities. My father went to the University of Washington, and then as a graduate school went to Columbia University. My mother went to New York University.
The second source shows my life as a baby, which represents my existence as Chan, the heir to the Oh Family.
The third source, a picture of Broadway, shows my early childhood and my childhood experiences, and all of these were essential to making me who I am today.

The first picture can be labelled as a primary source, for it symbolizes my mother and father's college career in America, which is first of all, important to our family's future and success, and second, crucial to the birth of myself and the one and only heir of my immediate family.
Now the second picture is yet again another primary source for it depicts the infancy of myself, symbolizing my existence, which is yet again crucial to our family's continuation, success and prosperity in general.
Now the third picture is actually one of a secondary source, for it pictures life in broadway, the bustling metropolis of the preforming arts. For this reason it is a secondary source because broadway and it's content was crucial to making myself who I am now.
Short Explanation of the Source’s Significance to the Event:
The first source about the three cups from the University of New York, Washington and Columbia symbolizes my mother and father's education, and university life. For this they moved to America, which pretty much determined my family's future success. Now I consider our immediate family pretty successful, and this is all due to my parent's education in America, for this caused us to bring American values and teachings and way of life to our family in Korea, and caused us to settle down in our home country with prosperity once again. Also, my mother and father being both at New York in the U.S. was crucial to their meeting and me being born. Imagine what would have happened if they never met! I wouldn't be here! Gosh!
The second picture describes my infant life, where I was obviously much cared for and loved. This symbolizes my existence as the one and only heir of my immediate family, and my fate controls my family's. As I prosper, my family prospers, so I better start prospering shouldn't I?
The third picture as a secondary source shows broadway. Now this symbolizes my education and background in my childhood, which was one of great importance, excitement, experience and education. Broadway was only one of the many, many places I went to in New York and it's vicinity, and the various cultures and ways of life of the U.S. I experienced. This was crucial to making who I am today, and for this I believe this is rightfully the third and last source of my presentation today.
NOW HERE COMES THE SCOOP OF THE DAY... Written Recount of the Event:
My father and mother both were accepted into prodigious universities, my mother into the prestigious New York University, and my father into the University of Washington. What was exciting about this was that my father and mother both came from unwell backgrounds. They weren't dirt poor, however they were not well to do either. However, when my father and mother both received huge scholarships and went to america, everything changed in their lives and also the situation and the prosperity of my mother and father's families. At this time, they did not meet or know each other, and unknowing of their fate they ventured into the new world of tall skyscrapers, loud traffic, huge crowds, metropolitan cities and vast landscapes. They ventured into The United States of America. When they came they studied extremely hard, my mother majoring in linguistics and my father in engineering & architecture. My mother stayed in NY to get a graduate master's degree in linguistics. My father transferred to Columbia University from Washington University to get a Graduate's masters degree in engineering and architecture. These cups represent the university backgrounds and hard work my parents experienced, and without these experiences these cups represent, my parents would have never went to america, and second they wouldn't have had me.
Now when I was born on April 1st, 1998, in Korea, our family was extremely happy, and our parents were very proud. Ironically, I was the smallest infant in the whole hospital, contrary to my status in the current day world. I was born in a Korean hospital however moved to America at infancy, which caused me to become more attached to America as a result. I lived in America for five years, experiencing many joys, incarnations of grandeur, and living many sorrows as well. For after all, it's the U.S., the greatest country in the world. Now in Scotland, I lived in the capital, Edinburgh, in a certain street called Huntingdon Street, and we lived in house 102. We had a very large house with a big garden, which we could play in, and at the back of our house was a great big park which everyone shared. I remember getting my first bee sting in that park. Now Scotland was a very peaceful place, the kind an elderly couple would like to go to, and it had breathless landscapes and views. However something was just missing, a piece of the puzzle that would be the key to the perfect place to live. That piece was excitement. Now when I went back to Korea, I think i filled in that missing piece. The piece I had left back in America was there, back in Korea. Since my arrival at Korea in my second grade years, I immediately was accepted into Korea International school and has been there ever since. Now I am one of the few children my family has, about two including my mother and father's families. If you extend the borders a bit farther, I am actually one in 7 children. However what makes my birth important is that I am the only child in our extended family that actually is American, speaks English, and has multiple ties with the U.S.
Now lastly of all due to my mother and father's experiences, they allowed me to have many experiences in America, which would prove to be extremely useful to my life. I went to national museums, read English books, visited schools and universities, watched musicals, listened to operas, watched movies, went to parks and many more, all in the U.S. Examples of museums I went to in my childhood are the Guggenheim museum, the Metropolitan Museum, the Whitney Museum, the Children's Museum in New York, and Moma, another museum.

I interviewed my mother to ask about my early childhood life and experiences in New York. As we sat down on chairs with a cup of orange juice each, we immersed ourselves in the memories…
Me: Mom, would you mind if I asked a few questions about our experience in New York?
Mother: No, not at all! Go on!
Me: Now mother, how was our life in New York as you remember it?
Mother: Our family had many happenings. We had lived in Scotland, America, and Korea. Before you were born, we even lived in Seattle. At New York, when you were an infant, you lived there until the end of your 1st grade.
Me: How do you think life in New York influenced our lives today?
Mother: Now I think that our life in New York influenced how we behave as a family these days. Just like New York is called the "Big Apple" of the world, everything, diverse cultures, modern technology, looming skyscrapers, everything was packed into one city, New York.
Me: Can you tell me a little about my experiences there? I can't remember well what really happened there.
Mother: I took you to many museums, such as Guggenheim museum, that one was especially inciting. There I think you fostered your creativity and appreciation for modern things. Also, since we lived near the children's museum, I took you there many times. I think your museum experience was a major factor in your overall New York experience there.
Me: Now are there any other things we went too?
Mother: Well we went to broadway. That was extremely exciting, as your father and I and you went to see masterpieces of art played by professional actors around the world. In broadway, there were numerous plays, such as Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, and many more. Also, we went to see choirs, bands and orchestras play music as well. We also went to parks, as your dad and I took care of you as you ran along the wide open grass. There were many many experiences we had in New York.
Mother: There was also a guy named… Comingham? I don't really remember. Anyway, we also watched many ballet performances as well. Those were great. Also, Lincoln center. Lincoln center was good. Lincoln Center and Broadway are basically the preforming arts centers of the world.
Me: Awesome! Thanks! This really enhanced my memory and caused me to remember and cherish many experiences we had in New York!
NOW FOR THE TIMELINE... A SEQUENCE OF EVENTS NOW WHY DOES THIS ALL MATTER? LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE HATS OF THE HISTORIAN AND FIND OUT... Detective:
Now as a detective, the job assigned to myself was to prove that a shift in the happenings of history has occurred, and to investigate it. Now to do this I first of all took a close look at the history of my family, both talking to my grandparents and parents. Now I found that this would have been the most suitable, unique and interesting subject and change in my family's history for this project. I interviewed many people, all my grandparents and parents, in order to gather information about this subject. I also looked at various artifacts, the cups being only one group of them, to take in more clues about what actually happened. Examples of these artifacts are, my father's acceptance letter, my baby clothes, my mother's acceptance letter, a picture of my family in Broadway, a video of a play in Broadway, an article about the culture and the way of life in New York and America, and so forth. Due to all this, I was able to gather substantial information, using the first part of the Hats of the historian, detective.
Interpreter:
My mother talked to me about the different perspectives of her acceptance. Her mother's perspective, the perspectives of her numerous siblings, her father's perspective, and most importantly, her perspective. My father did similar too. He talked about the perspectives of his parents and himself when they found that he had been accepted into Washington University and also Columbia. Also, I listened to information regarding the perspectives of my birth, the perspectives of most of my immediate family, as well as some members of my extended family. When my father told me about the condition of my mother after my birth, I was moved to see that she had toiled in order to bring me to the light of this world, for example. Now this information allowed me to analyze the real situation thanks to having been shown multiple perspectives of the incidents of my mother and father going to America, and my birth.
Judge:
Now as a judge it took me a long time to actually choose which motion I should focus on, however I finally chose the topic of the events leading up to my birth. Now before this I pondered whether to use the flawed and limited information I actually had on the events of my grandfather's resistance against the Japanese occupation of Korea, however this did not work out well due to the fact that I was limited on good sources and actual information, due to the fact that my only primary source was my grandfather, and also there was the notion that there were not many perspectives of view on this matter of subject. Only one, which would limit my ability to actually interpret the situation and actually look beyond the possibly inaccurate views of my grandfather, for whenever there is a conflict, you actually have to look at both sides of the fighting to see what actually is going on, for both sides will likely be bias on the favor of themselves. So using my evaluation and judging skills, I decided to move on to this topic of going to a new world and experiencing new things, which would maybe be not as interesting as the resistance against Japan, however would be more accurate and more complete.
Philosopher:
Now as the philosopher, the final aspect of the hats of the historian, I had to question myself with the cryptic statement, why does it matter? Why is it crucial to our family's tradition and history? Now this is probably the most important question I had to ask myself through this whole evaluation of this event. However I actually could answer this question easily. This event was important because first of all, if my father and mother had not moved to America for a college degree, then they would not have been educated in America with a superior degree, and they would not have been taught the American way of life, which greatly changed the way our family lives in Korea now. Second, if they hadn't gone to America, then they wouldn't have met each other, which would mean that I would never have been born, which means either there would be a different heir to the Oh family, or there would have been no heir at all. Both would give extremely different results, and influence our family in a way it has never done before.
